Public Speaking and Communication

Structure a clear message, speak with confidence and connect with an audience.

Norraphont Thammawisedsee speaking to an audience

Who it is for

People who present, speak to groups or communicate important work

Intended outcome

Prepare and deliver a clear, engaging work presentation while managing speaking nerves.

Possible learning modules

  1. Know the audience and purpose

Identify who is listening, what they already know, what they need answered and what they should take away or do next.

  2. Build the message and structure

Choose one central point and supporting evidence; open with relevance, organise the main ideas and close with a memorable conclusion.

  3. Make complex ideas accessible

Use examples, stories and visuals grounded in real work; remove detail that does not help the audience understand or decide.

  4. Use voice and body language

Practise volume, pace, pauses, eye contact, posture and gestures that reinforce the message.

  5. Manage nerves and interruptions

Prepare and rehearse systematically; recover when a point is missed, time changes or a question cannot yet be answered.

  6. Handle questions and apply feedback

Listen fully, confirm the question, answer directly and use feedback to improve the next delivery.

Example workshop

Deliver a three to five minute presentation drawn from real work twice, improving its structure, voice and audience connection after feedback.
