Communication That Moves Work Forward

Workshop for organisations / TAILORFIT LEARNING

Build shared understanding and clearer hand-offs

Do you repeat instructions or find that each team understood a different task?

Practise listening, checking understanding, delegation and feedback to agree how work moves between people.

For your business

A hand-off approach that identifies outcomes, owners and checks for shared understanding.

For you as a leader

A way to discuss delegation and coordination with team leaders before unresolved issues return to you.

REAL OUTPUT

What your team may take away

  • A task and understanding brief: outcome, owner, deadline and constraints.
  • A fact-based feedback conversation guide with questions and next agreements.
  • Communication and hand-off agreements for one team challenge.

Know who you will work with and what is included

We match facilitators and specialists to the challenge and learners. The proposal identifies the delivery team, roles, activities and scope before agreement.

Track application at work

Use before-and-after practice scenarios to review delegation, listening and checking understanding. The team can then track clarification requests or rework in context; no fixed reduction is guaranteed.

Questions before deciding

How much time is needed?

1 day / 6 hours: learn the approach, practise scenarios and draft outputs. 2 days / 12 hours: deepen work on the same course, with feedback and revisions around your team’s challenge.

What prior knowledge does the team need?

We discuss participants’ experience, roles and challenge before agreeing the activities. Bring one shareable work situation, without personal data or identifiable interpersonal disputes.

Do we need company data?

Begin with sample data or examples you can share. Live data, permissions and tools must be agreed under your organisation’s requirements.

What determines the cost?

Fees depend on the challenge, participants, duration and outputs. Also consider tool costs and your team’s implementation time. System deployment or managed operations are not automatically included.

Who follows through after the workshop?

Drafts and examples are intended for adaptation and follow-through in your organisation. Your organisation assigns owners to test and measure the work. Additional services require a separate agreement.

Compare this with your team’s situation

Sales believes the brief is complete, but operations does not know the delivery date. The client follows up, and a manager must reconstruct the agreement. Everyone is working hard, but nobody agreed what “ready to hand over” means.

Illustrative scenario, not an actual client case

Explore the approach to this scenario

Separate facts, interpretations and expectations. Practise questions and checks without blame, then agree required information, ownership and how to communicate changes.

IN THE ROOM

What we practise together

  1. 01

Locate communication gaps: separate what was said, what was understood and the effect on hand-offs.

  2. 02

Practise listening and checking: ask about constraints, summarise agreements and invite corrections.

  3. 03

Practise delegation and feedback across functions using observable behaviour and clear requests.

  4. 04

Agree required information, ownership, channels and follow-up points.

Start with the problem you want your team to handle better

We first ask what needs to improve, who will act and what progress would look like. Then we adapt the activities and outputs to your team.
